I Hear Dead People
From St. Paul to Thomas Merton, their voices continue to echo into cyber space!
Hi and welcome to my home page! In case you are wondering how to read and understand what is on this site, I’m going to make an attempt here, to help you with that. I Hear Dead People is just me journaling my thoughts about scripture.
I have been doing this for over 30 years now and I do it pretty much everyday. Several things have shaped my thoughts about scripture. The conversations I’ve had with others, books I’ve read, sermons I’ve listened to, nature, discussion groups and observing life. Over the years friends have suggested to me several times that I write a book. So this blog is my response to those who have urged me to do something with my thoughts. I am not by any means saying that I think my thoughts are good or theologically sound. But they are theologically grounded. I have no degree or any credentials that would validate me. I am simply taking what I already do and leaving it in a public place for all to see.
So that being said, I do not proof read any of my work. Therefore I apologize in advance for the spelling and grammatical errors. I know that my drive some crazy and I’m sorry for making you work harder than you would have to if I would go back and proofread and edit some of my thoughts. From time to time, a previous thought might come back to me with better clarity and I will go in and edit a post.
Most of the scriptures that I read and journal about are from the lectionary. So each week the scriptures posted are what I read and meditate on. I Hear Dead People was born from two things. The writers of scripture are long since dead. And the authors of most of the books I have read over the past few years have long since passed.
